If you choose to do so, set up your Steam profile and use the “Clear previous aliases” option in your profile settings.
Set your Steam profile visibility to Friends Only or Private for the first six months.
Avoid doing anything that could give the impression the account was recently purchased.
Never add a phone number that is already linked to another Steam account.
Do not change the account email address. If you still want to, wait at least six months before any change, and for extra security avoid changing it at all if possible.
Do not violate Steam’s Terms of Service, including through stolen credit cards or other illicit payment methods.
Avoid using payment methods such as cards or PayPal that were previously used on Steam. The safest option is funding the account with Steam Wallet codes.
Do not spend more than $15 per month during the first two months. Additionally, avoid adding any funds during the first 8 days after your initial login.
Do not change the Steam account password during the first month.
Avoid logging in from multiple IP addresses, especially from different countries.
If you use a VPN, restrict it to a single country endpoint only.
